Haukeland University Hospital, University of Bergen and Bergen Teknologioverføring (BTO) are planning a new initiative. Based upon shared resources and a broad commitment, we will establish a medical incubator where research, clinics, industry, business development and finance will work together. The objective is to take out the potential from life sciences and the medical market.
What will it take?
We asked Helge Ræder, Vice Dean for Innovation at Faculty of Medicine from University of Bergen, what he believe it will take to succeed.
– To succeed, we need to create an environment with a strong entrepreneurship culture and an educational structure. To create this culture, we need to mix highly qualified startups with more mature companies, investors, relevant university/university college faculty and a dynamic technology transfer office, he says.
Agenda
At the meeting on March 8, you can hear more about the plans for the medical incubator, meet motivated people – and become invited to be a part of an exciting process. We will present a number of significant research groups in medical and biomedical subjects. Local, national and international actors will share their experiences and present desires for a new, enthusiastic commitment to a professionally exciting area.

About Biomedical Network
Biomedical Network is a network collaboration between Haukeland University Hospital, University of Bergen, Legemiddelindustriforeningen (LMI) and Bergen Teknologioverføring (BTO). The network aims to become a common platform for innovation and project development across academic and between public and private actors, supported by the Norwegian Research Council.
