Kjartan started as Senior Innovation Manager at VIS in February 2019. His expertise is within solving challenges related to the value chain within aquaculture–pursuing a balance between continuous improvement and “quantum jump” when needed. Kjartan enjoys to explore the boundary lines of technological and biologic opportunities to develop valuable business activities. This he likes to do while also seeking a balanced triple bottom-line that focuses on social affairs, environmental responsibility, and economic enhancement.
Kjartan has extensive experience from the fish farming industry with almost 20 years in production of forage and development (i.e., from Noraqua/ EWOS/ Cargill). Moreover, the recent years he has been the manager of production and distribution in Norway and Scotland at Cargill.
In his spare time, Kjartan enjoys the outdoors in the mountain and by the sea–without having to worry about the time.
Education: M.Sc. Engineering within machine and process from NTH (NTNU), in addition to Technology Management from NTNU/NHH/ NUS and Corporate Management from Cargill.
