VIS CONFIRM Program structure:

Session 1 – Kick off & Introduction

The entrepreneurs will provide a brief presentation of themselves, their projects and motivation for the taking part in the program. Finally the participants are introduced to the self-serviced featurs of the EMS and to the preparations they need to do before the screening and selection for the second part of the program.

2 weeks with self-serviced work

Purpose – Resources – Business Idea – Business Model

During the self-serviced work the participant is presented for short 15-20 second videos instructing him to answer question in this four steps.

Session 2: Introduction – and review of self-services work

(Purpose, Resources, Business idea and -model)

In this session, the content of next xx/final sessions of the program is presented. The selected participants will present the fundamentals of their project to the other participants – based on the work they have already done in the self-serviced steps. The entrepreneurs are further introduced to S-E-A-M and the EMS. Finally, any questions and ambiguities are addressed before the preparations for the next depth session on Business Ideas are presented.

Session 3: Business idea

The Business idea is the foundation for any entrepreneurship project where it is decided what is to be done in the project. Under the business model in the next section, it is decided how this is to be done. It will often be easier to have a customer focus instead of a product focus if you start by finding the answer to what before dealing with how. After the initial round of presentations from all the entrepreneurs, we review and discuss what the entrepreneurs have learned about core competence, key contributions and key markets. Then the entrepreneurs present their business idea(s) – with input and feedback from the rest of the cohort. Finally, any questions and ambiguities are addressed before the expectations for the next session about the Validation of the Idea / the Problem interview are presented.

Session 4: Validation of the Business idea and Problem interview

After the introductory presentation and discussion where the entrepreneurs review what they have learned about business idea validation and problem (and solution interviews), the basic principles of lean startup, the five main steps in design thinking, and the principles of solution interviews are reviewed. Then the results from the Business Idea validation /  Problem interviews are presented by the entrepreneurs – with input and criticism from the rest of the cohort. Finally, any questions and ambiguities are addressed before the expected preparations for the next session are presented.

Session 5: Business model

The session starts with an initial round of presentations from all the participants, and following this we review and discuss what the entrepreneurs have learned about co-creators, unique value proposition, product features, ecosystem and sales and pricing model. Then two of the entrepreneurs present their draft business model – with input and feedback from the rest of the cohort. In some cases, solution interviews are presented and discussed, but as a rule, this is omitted or dealt with in a separate optional session. Finally, any questions and ambiguities are addressed before the expectations for the next session are presented.

Session 6: Objectives & Tasks

After the initial round of presentations from all the entrepreneurs, we review and discuss what the entrepreneurs have learned about competence, product, market, sustainability, and financial goals. Then we review and discuss what the entrepreneurs have learned about task execution. Some of the of the entrepreneurs presents their objectives and the tasks they have described to achieve them – with input and feedback from the rest of the cohort. Finally, any questions and ambiguities are addressed before the expectations for the pitch and presentaions session are presented.

Session 7: Presentations & Pitching

For the last session, the entrepreneurs must have prepared a complete presentation of their projects and their roadmap to develop the project. The final presentation will include representatives from the industrial clusters (klyngene) and the industrial expert/mentors in the VIS network that will provide feedback on the presentations. The focus should be on the content of the projects – and we encourage a balanced representation of opportunities and challenges in the project rather a pure sales presentation.

S-E-A-M method

Entreprenerdy’s standard method is called SEAM, or Systemic Entrepreneurship Activity Method. This method was developed at the NTNU (The Norwegian University of Science and Technology) in collaboration with several researchers in entrepreneurship and innovation from several European universities. The method is based on a comprehensive literature study and incorporates the leading modern theoretical directions in entrepreneurship; the «six pillars of entrepreneurship theory». The method has been tested and improved since 2010 in collaboration with dozens of support programs and over 40,000 entrepreneurship projects worldwide. The method consists of 7 steps containing a total of 29 elements that entrepreneurs will (and should) work through while establishing, developing, and improving their project:
