THE OCEAN is initiated by a broad range of partners aiming to provide the most important and relevant event for new discoveries, connections and collaborations across ocean industries.
This year’s conference will focus on three key topics.
“Ocean Wealth: Policy, taxonomy, market, and value creation” will focus on what levels of investments and regulations will be needed to close the ocean gap and ensure a sustainable ocean economy for generations to come. This will offer insights into new value chains and rewarding cross-sectorial collaborations. This will also include a discussion on the role of policy makers in making radical changes towards decarbonization.
“Ocean Health: Sustainable use of ocean resources” will address solutions for meeting today’s environmental challenges. It will tackle how to reduce ocean pollution, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and protect and restore marine ecosystems. In addition, it will also explore how cross-industrial collaboration can ensure the sustainable use of the ocean’s resources.
“Ocean Knowledge: Competence and collaboration” will explore how scientists and businessmen can collaborate to create new methods and technologies for the sustainable use of ocean resources. It will address the need for new competence, more effective data use, and further digitalization and automation. Along the way, there will also be a discussion on the current state of collaboration between academia and key business sectors.
