Altreal develops an app to help keep students motivated, and thereby stay in school. Michelle and her team of four people have already developed the app for high school students. The app starts gathering points when the student comes into the school building, and they get extra points when they solve tasks together with classmates. They hope that this also can help prevent bullying and loneliness.
The verdict of the jury said: «The idea solves a societal problem using modern technology. The solution communicates well with the user on a platform that the user is familiar with from before. We believe that technology can be used, but we challenge the winner to work hard with the business model in order to commercialize the idea.»
– We are looking forward to seeing this implemented, says Managing Director of BTO, Anders Haugland.
Altreal will spend the money to establish a company and develop the idea further.
– A really exciting project, which can serve great impact. The idea is closely connected to the society, which is a part of our institution’s social mission. We are proud to have such engaged and hard-working students who care about society, and are looking for creative solutions for it, says Gro Anita Fonnes Flaten, Pro-rector for Research at HVL.
This was the first time BTO and Sparebanken Vest arranged the student competition StudentIdé.
