BIOTEK2021 is a program that helps implement the government’s national strategy for biotechnology. The optimization fund is intended to contribute to further development of acquired research results and ideas from earlier biotechnological research and bio prospecting towards commercial application.
The optimization funds will finance research and development of biotechnical products, processes and services with a commercial potential.
Bergen Teknologioverføring AS (BTO) is one of seven approved project partners in BIOTEK2021. We can assist researchers in the Bergen area in writing the application and handle the commercial development of the project. In the last years, 30 – 50% of our applications have been successful. The five active projects we have in 2018 will receive approximately 34 mNOK from the Norwegian Research Council. Seize this opportunity and collaborate with us to get funding from BIOTEK2021!

Application process
- Get in touch as soon as possible and preferable before 24th of January to start the preliminary discussions about the project
- The process of establishing a project and writing the application should start as soon as possible. Mature projects will be prioritized
- Application deadline: 14. February 2018 at 13:00 CET
Ideas that reach us after 24th of January will also be considered, but please note that the chance of putting together a good and full application within the short deadline is small. We do not yet know how much funds will be made available.
