30.04.2015

Since the founding in 2004, BTO has been involved in 123 deals and the establishment of 43 companies. BTO’s main objective is to support researchers in bringing projects with innovative potential to the market. BTO is owned by the University of Bergen, Haukeland University Hospital and Institute of Marine Research. We do also have partnership agreements with most research institutions in the Bergen area. Together, these institutions employ about 4000 researchers which provide BTO with approximately 100 new innovative ideas from a broad range of fields every year. Our expertise is also available to both new and established businesses.

BTO has given students the opportunity to work as interns part-time alongside with their studies since 2008. Currently we have 9 interns working with us.

We’re always looking for students with good analytical skills, excellent academic results and the ability to work both independently and in teams. Every applicant must have an interest for innovation, entrepreneurship and consulting.

Responsibilities include preparing economic analysis for start-up companies, market analysis, preparing business and marketing plans and event support.

We offer challenging and interesting tasks in a nice working environment, good salary and opportunities for self-development. BTO wants their interns to get a great insight into the process of Technology Transfer (TT) and offers an opportunity to participate in a course organized by the Association of European Science & Technology Transfer Professionals (ASTP).

Justina Banyte, an intern during the 2013/14 academic year, had the following to say about working at BTO:

I appreciate the high degree of responsibility we are given when contributing in various phases of the projects – from initiation to evaluation. This, together with the demanding nature of the tasks, close supervision, and great working environment, has been essential for my personal and professional growth.”

Working hours: 1-2 days per week.

Note: The position is for the 2015/16 academic year, and candidates that are planning exchange during that period will not be considered. Applicants must also be fluent in English or Norwegian.

The position is scheduled to start in August 2015. Send cover letter, CV and grade transcripts to the following email and contact us if you have any questions. Deadline for Applications is June 1st 2015.
