It was in April this year that a team from the Norwegian broadcaster spent a whole day at the Tunicol research facilities at Øygarden outside Bergen. The TV-team interviewed the researchers and recorded the researchers cultivation of tunicates.
Tunicol is a new environmentally friendly and renewable source of marine biomass for production of biofuels and feed. Researchers from Uni Research and the University of Bergen are behind the idea and are now working with BTO for commercialization.
The Tunicol-project will also be present at Forskningsdagene in Bergen this week.
Friday 19th children from schools in the Bergen-area are invited to visit our stand at Festplassen, and on Saturday 20th from 11.30 to 16.00 the exhibition is open to the public.
Visitors will be allowed to touch the mucous tunicates and the researchers will answer all questions about the project.
