The design funding program was established last year by the Norwegian Research Council program FORNY2020 and the Norwegian Design Council. Innovation projects from all the TTOs and commercialisation actors in Norway affiliated with the FORNY2020 program are eligible to be nominated.

Last year only one winner was announced – the BTO project Salmon Lice Trap from Institute of Marine Research won. One of the most recognised Norwegian designers, Bård Eker, was assigned to be charge of the design project, and presented the result at the conference Designdagen 2012 in March.

Winner 2011, inventor and scientist Howard Browman, shares his experiences after a few months having cooperated with designers
